About Barbara

Barbara’s focus on personal well-being, performance, and positive social impact continually expands through her global network and humanitarian efforts through KIND CAUSES, PATAGONIA, POW (Protect Our Winters), CHARITY WATER, OCCUPY HEART, PROJECT SWIMSUIT, EPIC HIMALAYA, THE BRILLIANCE GROUP, and A.I.R. (Acute Injury Recovery Therapy).

‘Performance’ to Barbara is a special kind of success that everyone can achieve—as it relates to their personal and/or professional life. Performance begins with awareness, self love, and personal empowerment, and emerges as a reflection of passion, potential, purpose, execution, and impact. Performance, excellence, and being a Champion of Life are the ultimate powerful and positive influences affecting self, others, and the whole world—and only happen when one embraces their unique brilliance and the importance of practice. Barbara's performance training programs present opportunities to support the Champion in each of us through awareness, practice, action, kindness, and equanimity.  Barbara's Life Blessing and her distinct programs: "9 to PODIUM,"  "GAME F.A.C.E." and the new book A WHOLE PERSON MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD BETTER reflect her philosophy.

Everyone finds renewal and inspiration in GAME F.A.C.E.

F for Fun

Project Be Moved - Barbara Edelston Peterson

Listen to Barbara's interview with Kim Kircher as a hero of Action Sports on the Edge Radio.

Doc On The Run interviews Barbara about injury, recovery and what it takes to bounce back to championship status from a catastrophic injury.

Barbara's blessing sums up her true spirit perfectly:

Seek wisdom from nature.
Live in truth.
Give more than you take.
Love deeply.
Say thank you.
Begin again.

Athlete

Being an athlete has been an important part of Barbara’s life and is a constant influence in everything she does. Her passion for outdoor sport, performance training, nutrition, and functional medicine, along with a love of people, language, and adventure travel integrates as part of her life work.

This age-old ethos is the basis of Barbara's life and the PROJECT BE MOVED platform:

“To move the world, we must first move ourselves.”

Barbara's dedication to physical exercise aligns with her belief in the importance of moving potential, purpose, and positive energy from the inside to the outside. Even when she was immobilized at two separate times in her life with bilateral heel fractures and bedridden during her first pregnancy, she found a way to move physically albeit carefully. She contends that moving in life, and being moved by life, are similarly powerful in effecting consequences in a positive direction. From sports psychology to personal coaching to training for triathlons, Barbara proves that mobility is important, comes in many different forms, and is accessible to anyone.

Barbara shows that as a mother with a full career, as a humanitarian activist, and an extreme endurance athlete at 65 years old, there is endless possibility. Moving and being moved leads to abundance.

Barbara embodies her life work to the fullest—she lives and breathes her belief in the power of exercise and that excellence is derived from well-being in body, mind, and spirit. PROJECT BE MOVED originates from her expansive hope to inspire others to be a champion of personal passion and life.

PROJECT BE MOVED is about moving ourselves in body, mind, and spirit so we can move the world to a more energized and positive place.
